How is it different from acid washing?

E-RID is solvent-free, non-flammable, non-carcinogenic, and biodegradable - safer than traditional acid washes while still effective at salt removal. Less risk to operators, surrounding materials, and adjacent surfaces.

Which substrates is it safe on?

After application, it brings the dissolved salts to the surface of the substrate, where they can be easily washed away. With just 20 minutes of treatment time, SWP E-RID ensures efficient and rapid removal of efflorescence, leaving your surfaces clean and free from salt deposits.

How to Use

Apply with a plastic garden pump sprayer, allow 3-5 minutes to foam, agitate with a stiff nylon brush and rinse wellAlways test on surfaces prior to application, as some surfaces can become bleached
Water surrounding grass and shrubs well before starting application
Clean all dirt and soil off the surface using Red-PowerClean Degreaser
Dampen the surface slightly before application
Apply Efflorescence-Rid with a plastic garden pump sprayer
Allow 3-5 minutes for the product to foam and work to clean the efflorescence
Agitate the surface using a stiff nylon brush, broom or rotating concrete scrubber
Do not pressure wash
Wash away all dirt and remaining Efflorescence Remover and rinse well
Re-apply on any remaining tough spots until all efflorescence is removed and all foaming has stopped
Rinse everything with plenty of water and rinse equipment immediately after use
Neutralise any residue with a solution of water and baking soda
Clean all equipment with Red-PowerClean Degreaser and water
When the surface is completely dry, seal it with SEALTIGHT to help keep future efflorescence from forming

Technical overview

SWP E-RID (E-R EFFLORESCENCE-RID) is a fluid applied cleaner that removes efflorescence from concrete, brick, block, stucco and other masonry surfaces. It is a hydrochloric acid based liquid at pH 1.0, applied with a plastic garden pump sprayer, left 3 to 5 minutes to foam, agitated with a stiff nylon brush and then washed off and rinsed well. It is for exterior use only and is considered Corrosive, Class 8, UN 1789, Packing Group III. Coverage is 5-7 m2 per litre depending on the roughness of the surface and the degree of efflorescence. No Australian Standard sets performance requirements for efflorescence removers, no accredited test certificate is held for this product, and every figure published is the manufacturer's own value.

For exterior use only. Considered Corrosive, Class 8, UN 1789, Packing Group III, and contains hydrochloric acid salt at 11 percent. It causes burns to skin, burning to eyes, and mist can cause damage to nasal and respiratory passages. Always test on surfaces prior to application, as some surfaces can become bleached. DO NOT PRESSURE WASH. Water surrounding grass and shrubs well before starting. Do not mix with any alkali or hypochlorite product, as violent foaming and release of chlorine will occur. Apply in good weather when air and surface temperature are above 7C and the surface is at least 15C above the dew point. The manufacturer recommends chemical gloves, eye protection and rubber boots.
