SWP Seal Tight is a penetrating inorganic silicate sealer that waterproofs, hardens, and dustproofs concrete, masonry, render, terrazzo, and most natural stone - reacting chemically with the substrate to form a single insoluble mass.

How is it different from acrylic sealers?

Acrylic sealers form a film on top of the substrate that wears off. Seal Tight reacts chemically with the substrate itself, creating a permanent crystallised structure that won't peel, flake, or wear away under traffic.

Apply to a clean, dry substrate by brush, roller, or spray. Saturate to refusal in multiple coats - the substrate absorbs as much as it needs. Excess product on the surface should be wiped or washed off.

How to Use

Apply by back-pack or hand-spray low pressure spray at no more than 20psi, working bottom up, and saturate the substrateFill all holes and cracks
Remove dust, grease, unsound particles and loose or cracked paint to optimize the penetration of SEALTIGHT
Where salt is present, clean the surface to be treated using EFFLORESCENCE-RID
Where the substrate is in bad condition, missing mortar lines, holes or spalling concrete, use Maxseal Foundation or Maxseal Flex first
Allow the surface to dry as much as possible
Apply by back-pack or hand-spray low pressure spray operating at no more than 20psi
Start at the bottom, work across the surface and gradually work upwards
Saturate the substrate, ensuring a uniform and homogeneous coverage
Wipe up any excess remaining on the surface after 25 minutes with a damp sponge or mop
Where Maxseal Flex, Maxseal or Maxseal Foundation follows, apply it immediately while SEALTIGHT is still wet
Otherwise allow SEALTIGHT to cure and penetrate for about 12-24 hours
Allow complete curing of 4-5 days before painting or other application
Clean tools and equipment immediately with water after use

Technical overview

SWP SEALTIGHT is a penetrating masonry sealer, not a surface coating. Applied to masonry, concrete, plaster and render it penetrates and, by a progressive chemical reaction started at the surface, binds all component parts of the masonry into a more dense or solid mass, neutralising free lime and alkali. As the masonry increases in density it becomes waterproofed and resistant to acid, oil, fuels, fats and grease, and dusting, brick fretting, cracking and seepage are prevented. It is applied by back-pack or hand-spray low pressure spray at no more than 20psi and the substrate must be saturated. No Australian Standard sets performance requirements for penetrating sealers of this type, no accredited test certificate is held, and all published figures are the manufacturer's own values.

Apply with air and surface temperatures above 7C in clear weather. Do not use for below grade sealing; it can be used for above ground watershed application. Do not apply to concrete block work unless part of a system for negative pressure sealing, or part of a Maxseal Flex or Maxseal Foundation system. Do not apply to surfaces previously coated with silicone or solvent based materials. Do not apply if the substrate will not absorb water or SEALTIGHT. It will not fill missing mortar, holes or sizable cracks. Remove any excess SEALTIGHT that has not penetrated the substrate after a few minutes with a very damp mop, sponge or rag, and squeegee any pooling or puddling to areas not yet treated. Eye and skin contact must be avoided; use gloves and safety goggles.
