How to Use

Apply a minimum of 2 coats by brush or roller at a total minimum coverage of 1.5 litres/m2, each coat in a different directionConfirm all substrates are structurally sound, smooth, stable, dry and clean
Even or fill rough surfaces and voids first and point all brick and block surfaces flush, using Gripset 11Y for concrete and masonry repairs
Remove all sharp protruding objects, loose material, de-bonded coatings, curing membranes, release agents, wax residues, laitance, algae, moss, grime, oils and grease
Mechanically remove structurally unsound layers and surface contaminants by abrasive blasting, blast tracking, grinding or equivalent
Prime porous surfaces with Gripset GP by brush or roller at a minimum 1 litre per 6m2 and allow 30 minutes drying, or until the wet film dries to a clear transparent coating
Prime non porous, smooth and dense surfaces with Gripset OP at a minimum 1 litre per 12m2 and allow 1 hour drying
Fill voids, gaps and undulating surfaces in concrete and masonry with Gripset 11Y repair mortar compound
Fill static cracks up to 2mm with Gripset SB followed by Gripset RF reinforcement; use Gripset SB followed by Elastoproof Joint Band on live cracks
Apply the first coat of Gripset 38FC to the junction extending 150mm up walls and on to floors and embed Elastoproof Joint Band into the wet bed, wetting out the fabric edges with no air bubbles behind the fabric
Overlap Elastoproof Joint Band a minimum 50mm where lengths are joined and use Elastoproof Prefabricated Corners at internal and external junctions
Fit Elastoproof Collars over the neck of protruding floor pipes, embedding the fabric edges into the wet bed of membrane
Seal leak control flanges with Gripset SB or compatible sealant at the interface with the floor substrate, then apply 38FC with Gripset RF Fabric embedded over the flange edges and return the membrane down into the flange
Dress the membrane with RF Fabric embedded a minimum 50mm down into floor waste outlets finished level with the floor
Stir the product prior to use
Apply Gripset 38FC to the total floor area and to wall areas as required, in a minimum of 2 coats at a total minimum 1.5 litres/m2 to approximately 1.2mm dried film thickness
Apply each subsequent coat in a different direction to the previous coat, recoating after 1 hour
Finish with a continuous seamless membrane over the total area
Allow minimum 24 hours drying after the final coat before flood testing

Gripset 38FC is a water based, fast curing, fibre reinforced SBR latex membrane for waterproofing wet areas, showers, laundries, roofs, terraces, balconies, decks and concrete slabs that will be covered over with toppings, tile beds or overlay finishes. The TDS states it is compliant to AS/NZS 4858:2004 and AS4654.1:2012, satisfying the requirements of AS3740:2010 and AS4654.2:2012. Published durability results against AS/NZ 4858 - 2004 include a Class 3 elongation classification at 480%, tensile strength 1.09MPa, and pass results for water, bleach and detergent immersion, heat ageing, cyclic movement and water absorption. The TDS cites no test report number and no accredited certificate is reproduced on the sheet.
